The Safest Trampoline in The Market.
The Jumpsport Elite is self proclaimed on their own website as the #1 rated. Lets take a look as some of their specs to see how they hold up. The first thing I notice is the 14 gauge steel. The smaller the number the thicker the steel. 14 gauge steel is equivalent to your standard Wal-mart trampoline selling at $299. The Jumpsport Elite starts off at $1149. They also boast about their frame being pre-galvanized. Most rust proof high end trampolines are fully hot dip galvanized inside and out. Pre-galvanized means the metal is only galvanized before it is cut and bent. After the bending and cutting of the steel the frame is NOT galvanized again, so therefore when looking for a high end trampoline that will last you a lifetime look for something that is hot dipped fully galvanized. It will help prevent rust as well. Also another reason why the Jumpsport elite is not hot dipped fully galvanized is due to the thin frame. Hot dipping the 14 gauge frame will damaged the integrity of the metal and makes it brittle. Below is an example of what happens to a jumpsport frame after about 3 years in Southern California where the weather is perfect year round and hardly ever any bad weather. While their frame may look nice at first with the black powder coat, there is a huge difference between hot dipped fully galvanized vs pre dipped galvanized.
Jumpsport claims to have the safest trampoline in the market. Their trampoline is only safety rated at 240 lbs. That is the equivalent of having one or maybe 2 kids play on the trampoline. Who would want to buy an $1149 trampoline and play by themselves? Most high end trampolines will have a weight rating of over 500 lbs. Their spring pad is only 1” thick, that is comparable to your low end trampoline. A trampoline of this price should have a minimum of 1.5”. Another thing that Jumpsport claims is they were the inventors of the safety net. While they may have all invented the net they did not prefect the net. If you look at the picture below you can see that their net has no zipper. Easily allowing kids to fall and roll off the trampoline. Also notice the size of the holes in the netting. When kids are jumping their hands and feet can be in any direction, the larger holes will allow for kids fingers and clothing to get caught in the netting and causing serious injury. So remember just because you are the first to do something does not mean you are the best at it.
Jumpsport only has a 10 year prorated warranty on their frames, when most high end competitors carry a lifetime. This is due to the fact that their frame is so thin and will only last a few years. And the netting that is supposed to be the industry best only has a 1 year limited warranty.
In conclusion jumpsport trampolines is over price and does not reflect the value of spending $1149. All the information used in this review is directly taken from JumpSport website. They use lots of funny verbage and vocabulary to confuse the buyer into thinking it’s a high end trampoline and warrants paying the high price tag. If you don’t believe us take a look at some of the reviews that customer have wrote about Jumpsport on Amazon. There are many customers out there that complain about the quality of the trampoline as well as the trampoline is made of poor quality in China.
